Hi all, well it's with mixed emotions that I find myself typing here... As some of you will be aware I when out and in desperation got an ML270 CDI Manual to tow with, cos the ffrr turns it's nose up at towing toilets

I was on http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums for quite a while (still a member), found usefulness varied a lot. Which one did you use?

I'm on both the mbclub.co.uk and .com, both are next to useless..... either they are very much cheaper to run than a ffrr, or they attract the sort of non technical bods who only want to talk about polish and alloy wheels Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Ah - the smug self righteous feeling at having bought the right car and being on the right forum.

I'm reluctant to put my head above the parapet here…..MBClub has over 90,000 members of which there are a number of 'old school' DIY mechanic gurus BUT any response is dependent on A. the question not being lost in the blizzard and B. if the members who know seeing your post……most use the New Post function because there are so many posts/topics on a daily basis. Granted, they have had a huge influx of 'car renters' who have very little interest in repairing or modifying, a fact oft discussed and much lamented by the 'old guard.'

I'm on both of the main UK forums, have been for a few years now, and must admit that some members can be curt to the point of rudeness, usually the newer ones, though http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/index.php? has a lot of helpful people. As for diagnostic tools, they really are very limited, with STAR (now Xentry) being the best. I personally just use an ELM 327 in the OBD port of mine with Torque Pro on the phone, which is limited, but it has found a few issues for me. It's mainly used for data logging though.
No idea with the speakers, mine are HK and fine for my cloth ears, but the reversing camera is apparently a nightmare to retro fit, dependant upon the level of kit you have to start with. http://www.comand.co.uk/ are the people for this, but don't expect this to be cheap.
Some of us over there do drive AMGs, with several of us spending most of our time modding them. We're not all bad I promise you, just that the right person hasn't yet seen your post and possibly the idiots got there first. Oh, and I do know where the oil goes in mine, you get used to topping it up on an AMG ETA: Beaten again, must type quicker. |

I think that the biggest problem with the MBclub is there are no model specific areas, and from what I can see it all seams to get lost in a mess of ABCEMS class
