2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver
Lower Arms Q's

Guys I'm getting the dread bush knocking noise

Done both drop links looks like it's now the lower arms

I'm sure I remember reading the bolts were hub centric or something like that

Is this a job that can be done at home on the jack???

Do I need to replace bolts etc??

It sounds like the drivers side only but I'm guessing good practice is to do both sides

Sorry for all the questions in one go

I've got a 2004 4.4v8

Thanks
Neil

You could do it on a jack, you do have to be fairly brutal to get them out, especially the ball joint thats fitted to the hub... There are two bottom arms don't forget...

The camber bolts are on the back wheels in the top bushes, these bushes can knock and sound just like it's coming from the front as well....

Best thing is to jack it up and get a good look at all the arms, bushes, balljoint etc on the front and back...

Don't waste money on cheap parts either, go original or OEM through Dan.... Thumbs Up

I only ever change in pairs but it's up to you, it's not like shockers... if the joint/bush hasn't got play then it is fine... Thumbs Up Pete

I did my rears and fronts at home on my axle stands, I had to cut the bolts off the rears as seized but fronts came out ok. The bottom ball joints were proper seized in place as they fit into the hubs but heat and levering got them out in the end.
The bottom arms have to be torqued up to high number with the weight of the vehicle on the wheels so I used a 2 ft bar and drove up onto two railway sleepers to give me room. Replace the bolts and nuts as a matter of course I would say
