United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

A wedding I attended a few years ago all cars had a yellow ribbon tied to the aerial - bit of a problem with modern cars.

I'd go to Belgium and miss out France - However Belgium is having a bit of a mare at the moment may be better to go via Holland? Depends when but plenty of cheap crossings Hull to Zee something if you shop around.

I took the 5.0 SC from Heathrow to France, Belgium, Holland and Germany in the space of one week with no issues whatsoever. Actually easy peasy to be honest apart from finding the bloody Hilton in La Defence Evil or Very Mad MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Craig - re the question about flowers on the car.
I have no idea about foreign vehicles, but would not expect them to be dealt with any different to our local ones.

Thats what I had on the Merc a couple of years back, when brother in law got married and the bride wanted to be driven in a white big Mercedes... Thumbs Up

No problems with that flower deco style.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Often drive from one side of Germany to the other on my trips back to the UK from Poland. Never had any issue with German roads or customs. I have had a couple of interesting experiences on the autobahns where a car has come behind me and the flashed their lights and pointed to the hard shoulder while brandishing something credit card size - probably supposed to be a "warrent" card. I have never stopped for them on the basis that even an unmarked police car will have somekind of blue light and siren and they never pull along side you so you can see the card they are holding and the clincher was when a marked police car was in front of me and when i moved out of my line and the car behind could see it they jumped on the brakes and dived for the exit. I came to the conclusion it was probably a scam to nick your car, wallet etc. Unless our German forum members tell me otherwise. 2008 TDV8

thats what I thought.... he might have been still in Poland maybe... Question

thats a german police car.

thats a typical german "civil" prolice car - usually used on motorway.
Including some of its signature they use to stop you or ask you to follow.
they might not carry the magnetic blue light visible for the time they follow you.... Whistle

the vehicle can be anything from a c-class merc to a VW T5.

And then there are the gys from BAG dealing with lorries, transporters and travelling goods...

Thats not police, but they can also stop you if have a trailer etc.
Usually check for transporting papers and/or proper secured/strapped down load.
Maybe trailer brakes etc.

Thats about what you can expect on german motorways as far as I am concerned.
Its pretty much civilized and as long as you keep away from white vans and Audis, no problem at all... Mr. Green

So in short - pretty much as all over europe I guess.
