If you have a specific car in mind, then you can check whether there were any recalls for it & then check that the work was done

I don't know if it available in your country but we can look up http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp?tx When we bought our 2012 in December, the dealer was happy to provide service record and build sheet. |

We reported smoke on heavy acceleration to Taggarts in Glasgow on three separate occasions and on every visit they've said they can't replicate the fault so don't want to know.

If you're referring to the updated secondary turbo drain fix then no, it does not have to be engine out. The TSB shows the steps involved and mine was done as per the TSB, taking 8+ hours. |

The car can feel intermittently hesitant at constant motorway speeds. Apparently there is a TSB and the issue can be resolved via software upgrade. |

I spoke to Land Rover this week as Team Valley couldn't authorise the work as our car is out of warranty but Land Rover have just agreed to do this modification whilst it's in for a service as it's only done 11k miles and was reported to Taggarts in Glasgow 3 times whilst it was under warranty.
