Faulty MB Sprinter Bottlejack - standing to attention?

My jack won't stay down. When I untighten it and push the hydraulic shaft back to the start position, it then rises back up again without being jacked. Starting to think it likes me Laughing

Any ideas what's going on please?

It has built pressure in the reservoir for one of a few reasons.

Push it fully down then remove & refit the fill plug Thumbs Up

Any pressure above the oil will be released and Bod's your uncle (or in my case he's my father Rolling with laughter )

If the fill plug is on the side do it on its side with the fill plug uppermost. Back in a Defender!!

air lock ryan...undo the oil fill screw and let the air out by gently depressing the shaft... ... - .- -.
