Hi, hello everyone. I'm new to this forum as I'm moving over from Disco3 as about to swap to a 2003 FFRR 4.4 v8. Can anyone tell me what the cam chain change interval is please? Searched everywhere but can't find an answer. Thanks in advance for your help

They don't have a change interval, that's cambelts....

Mines at 145,000 and quiet as a mouse... others have failed at half that, mostly down to oil changes I recon...  Pete

As Pete says, they never need changing BUT... Its been mentioned on here several times the guides are weak so they do often have problems!

As Haylands said there is no interval however they do have issues with broken plastic timing chain guides. If it rattles it's usually the broken guides that are causing it (or failed tensioner), checked by dropping the sump and looking for plastic bits in the pan. If it's quiet then don't worry.
Just google the engine, BMW M62, for the common issues although the RR M62 is the TUB version (Technically Upgraded version B 4.4 litre or M62TUB44) where some of the earlier problems have been corrected (e.g. Oil Pump).

Thanks everyone I figured the chain made a difference but first time off a belt (since before OHC ) I thought it best to ask

It's got FSH and both runs and sounds sweet and quiet, no noise in the engine bay, so I think I'll go for it and immediately change the oil for peace of mind
