Windscreen advice

Hi all I am looking for some advice
My wind screen had a crack in it so I contacted my insurance company who arranged a new wind screen to be replaced by national windscreens for a £75 excess charge

I collected my car today the windscreen they fitted was a veltrio my old windscreen was a pilkington photos attached
I drove my car this evening and on start up the auto lights came on then went off for 10 seconds then came on again - it does this every time on start up more worrying whilst driving the went off again for a few seconds

Should I contact land rover to see if this windscreen is a genuine replacement or contact national wind screens and get a pilkinghton replacement

Has anyone ever heard of this veltrio window also my older windscreen had a darker tint at the top
Thanks

Pilkington is the genuine replacement, they make the screens for LR. The screen you had taken out was a replacement screen, the originals have LR logo on them.

I would phone National And get them to fit a Pilks screen. Definite safety issue of the lights go off whilst driving. Possible that the screen is misaligned or they have the wrong one on the car. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Veltrio is South African I think. Not heard of much here in the UK but they are aftermarket (copy). AFAIK, Pilkington are the OE for RR. Aftermarket glass usually do result in sensor functionality issues as well as heater failure too. It's a cheap product./

The best available products always are OE, original LR/RR branded.

BTW: In the second picture, the A-pillar trim hasn't been fitted back correctly!

hope you get sorted I had a windscreen replaced just before xmas in a Peugeot 206 cc . It was fitted by autoglass from insurers esure they made a total cock up of it broke the scuttle pan covers it leaked and they cut the wires to my Bluetooth unit . I complained and after 10 days I had another screen fitted by another company from Peugeot found out that the screen wasn't correct one by then the dashboard was discoloured where water had ingressed the lights have never worked correctly since steering arm was wet is a total nightmare so much that car is on a sorn now awaiting a court case with insurers hope you get sorted 1937 model y hot rod 1000bhp rover75 v8 vincert blackshadow plus several boats and other toyz ! ford f150 raptor Mercedes e class convertible jaguar f pace

I had my windscreen replaced yesterday by Euro Windscreens. I specifically asked them to fit a Pilkington screen so they ordered it and then fitted it on the driveway when it had come into stock.

I can't praise them highly enough so far, everything works perfectly and the little bit of wind noise that I had was sorted when they fitted it.

I'd certainly be asking them to get you a Pilkington screen and insisting that they get that one out asap.

^I Agree that Autoglass can do a proper job, but as with everything it tends to be down to the individual fitter. Did they send 2 chaps to do yours? When I had mine done on the old car I insisted on taking it to their depot in derby so they could have 2 chaps work on it at the same time. Which they did and did a top job too. I think the depots have now shut so can't do that anymore.......

I had National out to one of the Hilux, which should be an easy job, no rain sensors, auto lights or heating elements and they managed to make the new screen leak..... Had to come back twice to it. total Waste of time. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

nothing to do with range rover, but, had my old 1999 fiesta work van screen go. guy turned up got his trestle out, put new screen on it. i went in to boil the kettle, i did, and made him one, i took it out to him, and he was fitting the mirror to the inside... all done! he said it was an easy one. must have been five minutes work!
still got the morning off work though.
theres something really nice with a new screen!

There were 2 guys that did mine.

One guy turned up and started to take the trim off, then about 10 minutes later another lad turned up in another van to help him lift the old screen out and lift the new one in. Once it was in and positioned the 2nd lad left and the first guy put all the trim back together.
