Error codes

Hi all,
Now that a new batch of us have IID tools, is there a definitive list of codes anywhere to help with figuring out what all this stuff means. I cleared the lot the other day and checked a couple of times since. Each time, there appears a few new ones which clears with the exception of one which pops back up immediately after clearing.

IP-Instrument Pack
• 0xBD EBV function fault received from ABS ECU

---------------------------------

I also got these two last time I checked, but I'm sure will probably clear ok

PATS-AntiTheft
• 0x3 Key 0 - Random code tolerance increased

ATC-Heat / Cool
• 0x30 Air quality sensor line fault

Is this normal to see random codes like this that just clear or should this be clean all the time?

Oh! just to mention, any codes I've seen don't appear to cause problems as car is driving perfect and everything working

Hi There,

You are not alone, I too get a random code P065E. Says something to do with manifold but on further investigation could be the MAF setting this off. I have found a broken wire to the MAF! Like you car runs well.

As you say they are difficult to work out as something totally unrelated can set one off.

Cheers, Jerry

When I put the IID on for the first time the other day when I got it, I think there was about 20+ codes sitting there. Think I hit the wrong button by accident and cleared the lot Whistle Declan

You can safely ignore the first two, they will just come back if you clear them, and do not impact on the car (as per GAP info).

The third one could be the sensor in behind the vent in the dash, or it is the sensor attached to the top of the radiator. I have always had this code too, but doesn't seem to affect anything else. .

Yep, as Joe says, those three seem to be pretty standard, seen them on every early one I've plugged in (bar one, that didn't have any of them...weird)

The old codes you cleared are meaningless... the main dealers don't bother to clear codes when they repair FF's so the codes could have been from when the car was a week old...

You did the right thing.... clear all the codes and see what comes back... then ignore them... Whistle Whistle

The best thing you can do is go through all the live data fields and make a note of the settings each one is at when you haven't got a problem, this will help if/when you do get one... Using your phone to video you going through them saves a lot of writing... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks Pete,
Will do that and get some logs of the live data. Not really worried about those codes as I say, car is running perfect so not going to try and fix what is not broken, Very Happy . Just surprised though on googling that code about the abs, could not find anything, so question is, where does one get info on these codes if it was needed.

From the email:

Quote:
BD EBV Function Fault Received from ABS ECU (this came straight back after clearing all faults). We’ve seen this fault on other vehicles also. It may disappear after a while (when a clear fault is done of course). Check your ABS ECU’s fault to see if there is something in there, if not, leave it alone.

23-Key 2 random code tolerance increased (no problems with my only key) We’ve seen many RR with this errors including our 2005, nothing to worry about.

Thumbs Up .
