Active Rear Locking Differential on MY14 Car

I've had a look at a car that has Park Assist, as such back on the MY14 cars I don't think it can have an Active Rear Locking Differential which I would have liked.

However does the Active Rear Locking Diff just mean it automatically senses when it needs to be on, so if you don't have it you can manually select it on the in car menu?

If so I'm happy with that, just didn't want an RR with a Rear Diff I couldn't lock etc..?

If its anything like the optional E-Diff on the L322, it's automatic / not manually selectable. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

If it hasn't got the Active Locking Diff it has not got a rear locking diff. I have had three without and the latest has it. The three predecessors have performed amazingly off road I have yet to try this one off road. Similarly I haven't noticed it on road either but you would have to be acting the real hooligan to get it to lock up.
