Has anyone found an LPG supplier willing to supply them with LPG for car use, as i'm struggling to get anyone to do it. Tried calor, advanti, flogas.

I really need to sort my own supply as i live 15 miles from the nearest LPG garage.

Back when I had a LPG car I bought my own tank and was then free to get quotes form a number of suppliers. Also,, unless you actually specify the usage the supplier won't charge road duty. If you're using it in a car you MUST specify this when buying it.

Plenty of secondhand tanks out there. Just be sure it has plenty of time left on it's test certificate. This isn't cheap to have remewed.

I was trying to rent a tank but none of the LPG companies will do it if it not for heating use.

I also can not find a good skid anywhere to buy.

Can you buy a small LPG heater for your garage ?

To fill your car you need a tank with a bottom exit for filling the FF with liquid LPG, for home use they have a top outlet...

If a tanker driver sees you have a bottom take off they will report you if you don't pay for road fuel, they get a bonus for grassing you up....  Pete

Anyway it's the other way round now, people with motor homes are filling their gas bottles at the petrol stations because it's cheaper than getting gas in a bottle..... Pete

There are no garages on the routes i normally do, so i have been making special trips. Its becoming annoying, but struggling to find either a tank o buy at a good price or a company that will rent and supply log even though i will have a consumption of at least 5000 litres a year way more than your average home heating contract customer.

It seems very difficult to get a supply at home.

So what happens if your tank has both bottom and top outlets...... they are out there  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

have the offtake coming off the top of the tank , but its really a dip tube into the liquid layer

I have just ordered an LPG skid with pump and have setup a contract whereby duty is paid which is 10ppl that way its all legal. Was hard to find someone who wanted to supply LPG for personal use.

It should still work out cheaper than the pump price as you wont have to pay their markup  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I paid £1000 for tank second hand and have got a deal for 27.7ppl plus 10ppl duty fixed for 2 years so cheaper than the pumps at a 20ppl saving around here so I think about 2 years for tank to pay for it's self. But am looking at converting the wife's car as well so then will be even quicker.
