Audi Q7 Anyone?

The new Q7 has been tipped to compete with both the Sport and the Vogue, its the only car I have really considered in conjunction with the FFRR. Interested to see if anyone else had these on the consider list before the Range Rover?

One of my main gripes at the moment is that Audi discount heavily and a £65k car (well optioned) is likely to hit hit pretty hard over 3yrs. I have to admit it's a nice place to site but without quite the imperious driving position, and refinement is not quite there (SE model may be better than S-Line).

The Q7 S Line with the 272PS engine can be had new for 48K. So not really in the same league price wise.

The new Q7 has a superb interior, really classy. Up with the best that Audi has ever done IMHO. It's got an image problem though. Graham

We had one a while back.
Drove nice but hard ride.
TDI V8 was an animal. Horrific on fuel round the doors, also horrific on tyres. Horrific on depreciation too.
6 and 7th seat a bit of a compromise.
Boot way too small for a car that sort of size.

Would prefer to invest 48k in a used FF then a new Q7 myself.

I had one (58 plate) for a while and I agree with Johnboys comment that they are horrific on tyres. Not very comfortable on a long run.

Wouldn't have another one.

Tried the 4,3 before I bought my FFRR and while the engine was a beast the car felt really small inside. Was impressed until I drove the FFRR

Had the 3.0 on loan for a week and while a nice car , imho , not a patch of the FFRR 2015 4.4 AB

Absolutely no contest for me. RR = Classy. Audi = Another Useless D1ck Inside, Chavtastic Eurobox.

Besides which, the Audi is pitched from £48k. Not even in the same ball park as the lowliest Sport, never mind the Full Fat. As has been said before, no matter how well dressed the thing might be, to a RR driver they don't come onto the "Consideration" list.

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

After my A8 I looked at the Q7 but was disappointed with the interior, more like an A6 estate than a high end SUV on the inside.

Not sure if they have changed but the absence of low range was enough to steer me clear. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

An Audi Q7 competing with a FF and a Sport? That's either journalistic twaddle or company marketing making bold claims ahead of the launch. Let's wait and see but even if it did somehow pull of comparable ride comfort, interior comfort, cabin space and even performance and versatility, it couldn't compete this side of hell freezing over when it comes to class, actual or perceived.

Comparison between the RRS and Q7

https://www.carwow.co.uk/blog/Audi-Q7-Range-Rover-Sport-004

When I specified the Q7 to my needed spec (electric seats, deployable towbar, air suspension) it came to £65k.....you can get in a decent sport for that money, and not a million miles of a Vogue. If it was not the fact that discounts are available on brand new Q7 the running costs (if looking at finance) would have been broadly similar.
