United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black
TPMS on full size spare

Hi all,
I've just had my first slow puncture on my Dec 2014 SDV8 Autobiography...bloomin' nail!
Thank you TPMS for highlighting it to me.
It is unrepairable (they say) so I have ordered a new tyre from my local tyre place and am using the full size spare for the next 24-36 hours.
I have noticed that the full size spare does not have a TPMS valve and the pressure is not registering on the relevant display.
Is this correct?
I am surprised that LR would skimp on this as I have seen reference elsewhere to the spare tyre pressure being monitored in addition to the 4 runners.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Tony

On a L322 the spare is monitored

I guess not on the L405 otherwise you would have got some sort of message on the display.

I would definitely complain to the dealer about the lack of a TPMS valve though - assuming you spec'd a full size spare from new & it wasn't added later......

NOTE:
Different types of tyre may affect TPMS performance. Always replace tyres in accordance with recommendations.

TPMS constantly monitors the tyre pressure in each wheel, including the full size spare. Temporary-use spare tyres are not monitored.

Above is from the online manual, hope this helps. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

Hello

Do you still have these

Also do they fit any LR OEM wheel ? I have just put 22s on which didn't come with the TPMS and I'd like to keep the originals on my 20s

Where is the "relevant display" on the L405 for tyre monitoring? I see the "all okay" notice, but didn't know there was a screen where I could see each tyre's pressure? 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

From memory, it has to be viewed when the vehicle is stationary with engine off but ignition on.
I think it's in the service menu which is greyed out when the engine is running.

Yes I still have them, four of them. They came off the gen LR wheels I have up as a for sale thread. 2007 Vogue TDV8 with 255/55/20's fitted

I see on the L405 that if I build a car on the LR website TPMS is an optional extra, is this really true and has it always been the case, just assumed this was pretty basic feature in this day and age?

Just had confirmation from my dealer that the spare should have been fitted with TPMS.
I'm awaiting confirmation of when/how they will resolve it (I have moved house so don't fancy a 100 mile round trip just to have a sensor/valve fitted Smile

Guess what, dealer has now decided TPMS was an optional extra so will not fit a TPMS on my spare.
I'll live without it. If it ain't broken, fix it till it is.
