Heated steering wheel

so I found a button on my steering wheel, left hand side bottom, which looks like the heated steering will on/off. when i push it then let go, i have a red light come on for a second or so then go off. is this what is supposed to happen or is there a problem in the circuit somewhere?

Deffo the heated wheel button but the "on" warning light should stay on, so you know it's on so you do have a fault Many thanks

Do a search as there has been an identical thread just about a year ago on this.

I believe the technical term is it's foobar'd

I've just bought that second hand one from JPS off here. Wifey wondered why I needed a new one. I politely explained I didn't need it, but I wanted it. Nothing wrong with the current one, works fine. Giving it to my brother in law whose heated one is broken.

Sorry OP, no help at all re your thread, but I'm glad it's not just me that appreciates the feel of leather Embarassed Laughing

Sorry comports, but I believe your diagnosis is flawed. Foobar'd of FUBAR'd to give it it's correct acronym (F Censored Up Beyond All Recognition) describes a component or system that one expects to work, but has suffered a catastrophic failure. On here we talk about Land Rovers which regularly suffer from failure, so I think the correct technical term is SNAFU (Situation Normal All F Censored ed Up)
