Same for me, my L322 had massive carrying capacity due to the way the rear seats folded up behind the front seats , now they just drop to an angle and I am always reluctant to put anything remotely heavy on them just in case one of the rear seat belt buckles has landed at a wrong angle when I folded them and may bury into the leather below it. On another thread on here someone did say you can actually remove the seats totally by removing a retaining bolt or something but I haven't tried that yet. On the turbo lag issue, my SDV8 is very responsive and in sport mode, I can nip out of road junctions very quickly , never had an issue with it. Steve

Re. The rattle. Do you have the opening sunroof? I find this is the very occasional source of a rattle that sounds like it's coming from the trim. If, so try pushing upwards on the roof and the rattle disappears.

I have no delay on accelerating from standstill with my V8 diesel but did find this effect on V6 RR and RRS models. It was one of the biggest negatives for me of th V6 in various guises. I ended up driving them in Sport mode to avoid the accelerator lag. MY23 D350 HSE

...I'm experiencing this kind of "Geiger Counter" noise, and found out that it stops also with the sunroof inclined. Once completely open, I can also reproduce it by lightly pressing the front rubber seal where the sunroof goes in contact.
Hope that mydealer will be able to solve it.

Ah, that's a good description of the rattle that I have- I'll look at the sun roof tomorrow!

I actually had a word with garage I bought it from and they let me take out the supercharged again for another test drive and I'm kicking myself now. I think last time I didn't give it a thorough enough test, plus I'd been out in a Tesla P90D the day before which warped my sensation of speed. Those combined meant I wasn't blown away by the performance originally.....well I was today! Thrashed it around some local B roads and the performance was brilliant - just what I want in a car. Unfortunately it looks like it's probably sold so now I have a dilemma!

I agree that the sat nav is crap compared to what else is out there right now. I was at the traffic lights today next to a new Audi TT and I looked enviously at his dashboard with an incredible detailed map where the speedometer and ref counter usually are. It looked beautiful! And that's before you touch on the useless routes the sat nav comes up with! This gets particularly bad in Europe - I've found that trying to navigate around Paris is hopeless unless you use Google Maps on your phone.

Also agree with the folding rear seats - okay, I get why with them being electric, but I honestly think it's one electric motor too many - I never found it a problem to manually fold down the seats in my old L322. Definitely a backward step.

I use WAZE on my iPad instead of any in-car satnav. It is FREE and gives real-time traffic info and finds alternate routes automatically if the delay is 15 Mins or more.

Pretty much as the figures would suggest. The V8 diesel has loads of low down torque, but the SC has so much more too end. I'm really kicking myself for not test driving it properly the first time, as once you experience it in sport mode at the top end of the rev range the power and sound is addictive and I want it in my life!

I love my SC the super charger whine is so addictive, although whine equals speed fuel gauge!!! but big smiley face.

Well I've bitten the bullet and put down a deposit on a one year old RR Sport SVR. Shouldn't have test driven it really, but once I did nothing else could compare. Hopefully pick it up Thursday!

Decided I'll come back to a FF in a few years when I'm ready for refinement over performance!

I'm a fan of the L494 & test drove one before buying the L405. I decided I needed the space for another year or so, but my next car is more likely to be a 494 than another 405.

I daren't drive an SVR or I think I could find myself in the same boat as you - enjoy it !

Yeah, to be honest I usually keep my cars about 3 years, but no point having so much money in a car I didn't truly enjoy. It was excellent, and they are wonderfully refined, but I have a V8 itch that need to scratch!

The SVR is the only car I'd consider swapping my L405 for. I just love the Estoril blue colour and that amazing V8 sound
