I need to take out a LR Extended Warranty for my FFRR,are there any deals to be had out there?

Has it lapsed Cliff? or are you looking at extending it after a year of ownership?

Both ...had a year extended from the dealership when I bought it,but that expired in Jan & I've just been into my dealership and they now say I need a pre-warranty inspection

If there is a gap, they suspect foul play and need to inspect the car

Save your money and put the considerable premium towards any problems you might have - it gives you a huge start

Well the FF has had its pre-warranty inspection and the only thing that was wrong(apparently) is that there's a slight leak on the power steering, it will cost either £300 odd for one particular job or if it needs a new rack they say it will cost £2900 !!!!
There is no way I can afford the latter so I'm now in a quandary of what to do as there is no way that I want to own. LR product without a warranty....

Only read the last post so apologies if my suggestion has been previously discounted.

Get it inspected by a trusted independent RR specialist. If they confirm remedial work is required on/ around the steering, find out what is required and the cost for them to repair it using genuine LR parts. If it is the lesser fault, the independent might charge a fraction to that of a main dealer.

Once remedied (if the independent does confirm a fault of course), take it back to a LR main dealer and ask for the pre warranty inspection again.

If a clean bill of health is then given, take out your LR extended warranty.
