Once you get the car it is then registered with Land Rover in control and then they send you an email telling you that it is activated you can then forward the email to your insurance company . |

Open up the front page of the Incontrol app which shows the vehicle location relative to yours, take a screen shot and send the pic to the insurers. Evidence. Sorted! |

Funnily when was looking to fit a 3rd part tracker e.g. RAC Trackstar , Smarttrak etc - the insurance company (Aviva) said having one of these fitted would make no different to my insurance quote which surprised me. (Aviva being cheaper than all other companies who quoted me by a very significant amount anyway). Steve

Well in my case having a tracker fitted (smartrack protector pro) reduced my premium by more than 50% |

When I was looking to insure mine, many insurers required a Category 5 tracker. As far as I could establish, the LR InControl device is only Category 6 (which is a lower standard). |

Directline told me the price would be the same without the tracker- BUT the car would not be covered for theft !!! |

JASM - can I ask who your insurance company is please as I was going to fit the tracker until Aviva told me it made no difference, but if they do such a large discount, I would be interested in getting a quote from them at renewal time and fitting one as I always liked the idea anyway.

By fitting a tracking device, our premium dropped by more than half of the cheapest quote, even with adding in things like 'same size hire car' and the like. This was with Direct Line for an area normally on fire or sheltering from gunfire |

My RR was £463 with Aviva (guaranteed NCD incl) and next nearest was just over £900. Mind you it's almost double what my L322 cost to insure in same way but that's the price of having an expensive car I suppose. Steve
