Older cars might be cheaper to tax, in the future, but by 2022, you won't be able to drive them anywhere, as the low emission zones, will have us well in their targets.
And the diesels, will be only allowed out on Sunday's.... Shocked

^ wrong in one respect... Going forward, An older car will be much more expensive to tax. A car up to 2016 will cost £500+ a year, a 2017 car will cost £140.. Previously..
