Protecting Grand Black Veneer

Hello

Does anyone have any good tips on steps that can be taken to protect the grand black wood finish? Or do I just have to be extra careful

I have had it in many of my cars and have never damaged any of it! That said... If your kids climb around inside? I guess it could get scratched? Whistle

Ive just heard it gets damaged really easily, even without you realising.

I believe Its inevitable that Mrs JKay will place her handbag or something on it one day, but the fact you have never damaged any of it does sound reassuring Thumbs Up

Your right, the only two bits prone to “wife damage” would be the two parts by her right calf/knee area... If your concerned? Buy some stick on clear plastic to cover it? Thumbs Up

On one of my rear doors the laquer top surface has a scrape out of it, it does not cut into the black surface underneath. Any suggestions how to restore that? Only Range Rovers since 1988

Come to think of it, it was on the L494 RRS forum
Where many were complaining about their grand black being extremely fragile

I wouldn't have thought the black wood finish on two would have been any different (ie sport vs Full fat) but seeing as FF owners don't seem to complain about it as much, I wonder if they are in fact different

Maybe the wood is in places that naturally attracts more wear / damage ?
