While i'm not sure about the Evoke (I think it looks a bit Japanese) I obviously wish them every success. I live in Birmingham and it's one of last signature brands to build anything here.

I also the think the Jaguar brand has been hopelessly under exploited in the USA in particular - they'll by anything for a bit of status and heritage - yet the footprint is remarkably small.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Evoke will be a good cash cow for LR, just like the Sport was.
But it still cheapens the brand IMHO.

Ahhh, always nice to find people with their noses at 50,000 ft. Laughing

As one of those silly former colonists, let me be the first to assure you that we Americans are very interested in status symbols - just as the French, Germans, etc. and most other humans on this planet. I would have to disagree with the 'heritage' bit of that statement; were it an American company - maybe. As a foreign company - probably not. Even if that foreign is the very friendly country with whom we are divided by a common language. I believe that even very status conscious Brits would be much more interested in the heritage in this case.

By the way, JJ, that would be 'buy' wouldn't it? Whistle
