P38, tech question for former owners

Hi all, my pal with a P38 is having trouble with the lights on his hevac display, he's put new bulbs in, but it's really dim Shocked and not controlled by the instrument dimmer........ is there any way of turning it up? like the secret menu in the ffrr.

The lights are working as you can just make them out in the dark, but this is no good to man or beast in the daylight Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Unfortunately you can't change the brightness on the P38 display. If it's dim after new bulbs then you'd need to be looking at changing the whole panel Sad

Sorry to point out the obvious, but he did out in the correct wattage bulbs, right?

From memory (long time since I’ve seen one!) they used to get stuck in “night dimmed mode” a curse of the BECM!

Craig could be right, but I did mine long time ago, and bought a set of bulbs on eBay. I think there was one I couldn't change, I think there were 5 in total. And one was very different?
Maybe try a battery reset, with lights off of course.

And keys in you hand, or you lock yourself out! Oh, and read up the key code lock out 'beep of doom' before doing this too.
