Test drove a L322 5.0 AB

Drove upto Perth about an hours drive away from me to see about buying a 5.0 AB on Autotrader it looked like the one , strange how pictures are deceiving , got out our car had a lookaround ... Driver rear alloy wheel must have took some skelp as the biggest part of the face had been all badly scraped and kerbed .

Firstly tho it needed a jump start , took it out for a spin , brake pedal was solid also quite a bit of vibrating when braking coming up through the steering column , the bonnet at the windscreen had a couple of dents ... Dissapointed on the interior condition .

Granted power wise it is fast when you floor it , definetly a licence loser ... 🚔🚔🚔 ... 👀

2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Keep looking Mick...........

When i was looking i drove for an hour to see a TDV8 2010.
I opened the boot and lifted the tray, i kid you not the spare wheel and the whole area was full of rubble, it looked like someone had used it for a mobile skip.
Scratches down both sides, all wheels scuffed, a complete dog.
I didn't even bother starting it.
The car was pride of place on one of those display ramps....
What a waste.

Good luck in the search

Thumbs Up

I wanted an AB but I got a 2011 SC, and I am loving the Supercharger so far. Most of the cars that were AB had a 5-10k premium or they were not taken care of when I was looking versus similar SCs.

2005 Range Rover Autobiography Td6 Zambezi Silver

Plenty of crap out there.. I think 75% of the 'used' range rovers I see for sale I would class as poor condition.
Went to view a 2012 AB recently done 35k miles and one owner. Was up for strong money and thought it would be mint. Well it was far from it, needed paintwork, alloys scuffed and worn seats/damaged leather. The dealers excuse "well it's a 4 year old car" Thing is some idiot will come along and hand over the £38,000 for it no doubt!

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

@ JPS

When looking to buy, I declined to even go and view two that caught my eye but both were a fair distance away.

One dealer told me he would call back in a couple of hours to say when it would be available (a 5.0 SC) and then sent me a vid where it had clearly just arrived that minute, all dirty and dented. He gave the same response as you had.

Another dealer was taken aback when I declined the offer to travel into Central London on a weekday to view something which hadn't even been vacuumed (crisps, sweetie wrappers everywhere) and had four damaged wheels, two separate bits of damage and was due a service that I would have to pay for.

At least the second one had the grace to phone a few days later to apologise and agree that I was quite right in saying the vehicle didn't meet LR standards for Approved used, offering to rectify and repair and "throw in the service". Funny that, but no thanks.
