Finding a generic fit in pipe

Wonder if anyone can help at all,

I'm re routing the cooling system in a car and will be creating a new high point as part of this which I won't be able to get round. This means the new section needs to have a bleed nipple on it Sad

What I'm trying to find is a straight piece of rubber section but could be plastic or metal if needed as it won't be high pressure just hot(!) about 3-5" long and about 12-18mm ID that had a bleed nipple built into it or if not possible a way to easily fit a bleed nipple onto a section of silicone hose Smile

The only ways I can come up with is using something off an old Volvo or Peugeot from eBay or a breakers but as the other pipes will be new I'd rather not fit an old bit! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Will, The Discovery 2 has a hose with a bleed nipple incorporated in the coolant system. It is used to bleed the system when replacing coolant. Don't know the dimensions offhand but a bit of research will turn it up.

Just a thought.

Alternatively these people, from whom I have had silicone hoses, do hoses to measure and might come up with a solution. I have found them to be helpful. http://www.derbyperformancehose.co.uk/ John

Hi John,

Are you thinking of this pipe at all?

Is the pipe your thinking of the same on all engines or just a td5? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Will, The part no is PEH101080. Looking at it the part with the bleed off seems a bit larger than you are looking for? John

And VERY expensive from memory Will...

My TD5 Bob needed one a couple of years ago and it was north of £70 from memory & around 1.5” across so maybe too big?

Thanks John

Yes a quick look it's definitely going to be a bit too big. Ideally it needs to be around the same size piping as the longest branch is from the main large pipe.

Thanks anyway fella 👍 FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
