I'm afraid your dealer is either being disingenuous or just badly mis-informed and I suspect the former. Just take a look at the Auto express (UK) spy-shots of the face-lift full fat and send a copy to your dealer.

Alternatively, offer to buy his shop stock car if he undertakes to replace it with a brand new face-lift one if that comes out in say the next 12-18 months. Just watch his face as he tries to wrangle out of the offer Thumbs Up

For a dealer (and lets face it they are just franchised customers of LR and not the horses mouth) to expect a potential customer to believe no face lift for 5 years is a bloody insult.

Show me another premium marque which has left a model untouched for that length of time.

Good thing I have a few dealers to choose from, both locally and just outside town.

I still think it's so odd they would try and say this to a customer, but oh well

Perhaps that's what he meant, ie a completely new model, although I did enquire specifically about a facelift

Going to look at one at a different dealer this week.

It may have been Sat a while by the looks of it, brand new with 0 miles/kms MY15.5, release date (I assume
This means build date) Oct 14 according to website

Already been reduced once. Let's see if they're willing to budge. If they can meet me on price then I might be ready to do a deal Thumbs Up

If not I'm happy to wait

General consensus (from friendly dealer staff and the web inc another major rangey forum) is that there will be a facelift,
possibly very mild on the exterior, and the interior to be tweaked with the 'newer' tech i.e. larger infotainment screen etc

I would think that JLR would have the raise their game, look at Audi's virtual cockpit.

Yes it's no Range Rover, but one does feel slightly shortchanged at this price point, and JLR know that.

So I reckon that no major facelight, just the usual mid cycle revisions as per the german modus operandi.

Just buy one man!!!

That will hopefully be happening in the near future (if all goes well) Smile

Not sure if I'm patient enough to wait for the facelift, which, Based on the spy shots, doesn't look revolutionary (on the outside at least)

Thanks for the link to the spy shots Stevek

I sure as hell hope they didn't get rid of the side grills. That's iconic RR. Instead of removing them make them functional! 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Yes, I'm not sure why they would get rid of them. We always knew they were more of a design feature in the L405. To remove them doesn't make a ton of sense to me. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Not sure they are -- you can still see the vertical break between gill and door panel. Or perhaps I'm seeing things that are not there?

Would mean a new door panel pressing too, can't see it going. It's there to break up the length of the door as well.

The staff at most dealers throughout the world will lie when asked that question, if they say "Yes there will be a facelift in the next 9 months" you won't buy a car now, if they deny it then you might buy one now and never notice the facelifted one, and if you do they will just apologise.... and they have done what they are paid for, and sold a car....

It's like anything, if you want to know the answer to a question, find out yourself, don't ask a salesman, most will say anything to sell something, they might seem nice and helpful but at the end of the day most will lye through their teeth...

Or an I getting old and distrustful.... Pete
