It's what is known as "history" and while not enhancing the value of a car it does help when selling - I've kept all the paperwork for mine as its useful to have a reference as to what was spent and how long ago - I'm surprised the dealer did not want it but if you could track the new owner down he/she may be glad of it. As for classic status the "official" line (from my insurance company anyway) was that as the FFRR is classed as a commercial vehicle it would have to be 25 years old to qualify for classic insurance. (That may change) so while many of us feel it is or will be a classic the insurance company's don't see it that way (at least mine don't) yet. |

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I always keep receipts as I know I value knowing what has been done to a car I'm buying. I thought that perhaps the dealer didn't want it as it gave the impression that a lot of things had gone wrong with the car (not really the case, but I could imagine wanting to avoid such an impression.)

You could apply to dvla to find the current owner but will cost you a fiver,if you tell them the reason why they may pass on the information,am sure any owner would be gratefull . |

If you was to keep the stuff in a folder, in the loft, you might find one day the new owner asking you, the previous owner, (addressed) on the log book, a question politely. You can then pass it on.
