I just don't understand a garage doing that, barking in my view for a few pence more.

The old ones go very hard, and the bolt bottoms out with little tension given by the already thinned rubber seal. . Yes do one at a time, they are about £1.50 each I think. Observe the torque setting, or just do up gently tight. Don't need to be really tight!, you are screwing steel into aluminium. 10mm socket is all you will need. |

Thanks for the reply - £1.65 each from Landrover so went for some febi bilstein branded ones (16 for £12 delivered).

Chucking oil everywhere is good... it means the oil ways to the top of he engine aren't blocked...

Actually looking in the engine without the oil cap on - no surprise oil got flung everywhere with the timing chains where they are! Has put my mind at rest! |
