I've wondered about getting a caravan - I just know that the kids would love it, and there are some beautiful camp sites in France. Would love to see some pics of the Range Rover towing a caravan? Whistle 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

I couldn't bring myself to tow one - I'm kind of in the Top Gear camp on that one

But have been a big static caravan fan - and rented them in France for 7 or 8 years before buying one 5 years ago

Kids love them and I've been won over - but a good sized static south of Bordeaux is far more attractive to me than towing something around the UK Thumbs Up

A static is good, but I get itchy feet and need to try new and different places, Cornwall at Easter, Bournemouth at whitson, France & Spain in summer, Devon and Dorset at Autumn. Heaven!

The kids get so much freedom and all the caravan club sites are superb!

Recommend touring it's everything a static has and more! 2010 defender utility

It's something that appeals but the other half is put off by the toilet arrangements. She knows me too well Embarassed

I know those feelings Basilfawlty! We only use the caravan toilet for no1's Shocked at night, any other time we use the onsite facilities and providing you've chosen the right site they will be spotless Very Happy 2010 defender utility

Thanks for the piccie PaulB!

For those who mentioned their wife not liking the toilet arrangements, I completely understand - I've had the same discussions. I made the mistake last year of booking an overnight stay in a Eurocamp tent on a campsite in France. I fear that it has put my wife off any form of camping for life. It's why they build hotels, so you don't have to tow your accomodation around Smile

Except a plumbed toilet or two, plumbed water, enough current to be running heaters in every room, a good bit more space - a couple of sheds & I don't have to tow it anywhere Whistle

I know its a compromise - and each to their own Thumbs Up
