I have a TD6 and love it. Also looked at 4.4 V8's in L322. But ended up with a TD6 as we will be towing a BIG van. So the torque was in the right places. Also considered RRS but a lot of the salesmen we talked to said RRS owners were trading up to FFRR. Just a better car all round even if a bit bigger.
Try another TD6 just for comparision. We drove 6 -8 TD6 & V8's before we bought our TD6.
Good luck with the search . Think you will be happier with a FFRR in the long run

Getting a TD6 instead of a TDV8 for the sake of saving £205 is silly!

If you do a lot of miles every year, the extra mpg with the tdv8 might save you the cost of the extra tax too.. at least test drive a tdv8!

edit: ah, forgot you were in morocco, guess the tdv8 tax is more then an extra £205?

I'm not living in Morocco, just going there this summer! The TDV8's start at £20k plus, I can get a Td6 for under £14k easy.

Tempted to see if I can take that Td6 from last night on an extended test drive, at least half an hour, see if I was missing the point! Current fleet:
BMW 330Ci M-Sport coupe - daily driver and long distance cruiser
Range Rover Classic Vogue SE (3.9 V8 on LPG, soft dash model with EAS) - weekend car and generally uneconomical runabout
Suzuki GSX-R750 K6 'Stealth' - trackdays and high speed touring!

Wanted:
Either FF Range Rover Td6 or Range Rover Sport TDV6 - can't decide!

Had my FFRR now for a year, have to agree it sounded like a tractor when i first got it, also had 68000mils on with full LR service history, etc.

Ive had it re mapped and the first thing i noticed was how much quieter it is.

Things that have gone wrong since ive bought it are mirrors fold but wont stay in, the passenger door lock packed in and the drivers one can be tempermental when cold.

Its now got 80000 miles on it, Would love the new V8 but wife and daughter at uni wont allow, so it will have to do for now.

Still love driving it, next major run is trip to Cornwall. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty,nothing else matters.

Love my TD6 - wouldn't swap it for the TDV8 as that's more power than I need. Mines a high miler and I absolutely love it !? Try a few before making your mind up.

Don't know about post 2006, but my rr does drop to motorway height at about 60 mph.
so their are 4 heights altogether and m/way mode cannot be selected.
I remember querying this a while back on this great forum and stan told me the later rr's don't drop to m/way height until 100 mph

So has yours got 4 height indicators? Mine has 3 - Off Road, Standard and Access. Plus the one on the left of the switch to indicate height change.

the motorway mode is automatic and has no indicators , hence you only get 3 lights.. ... - .- -.
