Heated AND Cooled Seats

MY12 - L322

I know this has been asked many times but for clarity - I have Heated AND Cooled Seats and the drivers seat refused to heat (both seat base AND lumbar support) this morning (and I do not think it has been getting up to normal volcanic heat as of late).

I went to check the fuse but couldn't drop the glove box lid as per the handbook and even then I could see the fuse removal tool was missing from the fuse box - peering in over the glove box lid. To try and test the fuse another way I:

- tried turning on both seats to cooling - heard both fans start
- turned to heating - no fans in either seat so assume the fans aren't used for heating?

BUT the drivers seat started warming up - which it had failed to do over the recently completed two hour journey.

Before I get into putting it in to a dealership for a warranty claim - is there a problem and if so where do I point the dealership. Am convinced they will probably just return the car and say nothing is wrong or claim to have fixed it - call me sceptical but from experience, this is the normal outcome on intermittent faults.

If there is a problem do the lumber and seat base heaters operate independently - i.e. if one stops should the other still work?

Many thanks for any thoughts.

The fans must run when heating otherwise you get an over temperature event and the ECU will go into fault and stop the Pieler cells but your lights will still light up on the dial . 2008 MY Supercharged
