recommendation for boots

Not tyres, boots, like one wears on ones feet.

I'm not one for walking boots as they tend to go too high up the leg, kind of Doc-Marten 12-up style, but I need something more waterproof and grippy than trainers.

Tending to the garden yesterday I had wet feet in minutes and slipped over twice. I can't stand wellies as I just end up with cold feet and safety boots are not comfortable to be worn all day.

Any recommendations please chaps? Waterproof-ish, ankle boot style if possible and a grippy sole.

Ta. Dom.

I use either Brasher Supalite II GTX or Berghaus Explorer and find them comfy, and not too high

Mr. Green

or, from sports direct these very cheap boots which are higher than what you want but probably will ok for the garden,

Laughing Exactly Pete Bow down

I was very sceptical but the first pair were something like 85% reduced so cost peanuts... I then actively searched for more Thumbs Up

Ah mark but are you wearing them "proper" in the cool dude manner with the laces very loose. Also if you did as I did and buy a pair too large they slip off very easily Big Cry Rolling with laughter

Also sorrels are only £99. Bow down

Merrel , timberland , Adidas .
I wear hiking boots for work by the above brands .
Waterproof and comfortable ankle boots .
If you want no-lace , I wear jallette riggers .
Try arco safety for mail order , they're who I used last for timberland euro hikers and jallette last time I was in the UK .

Altberg.

They have other styles but these are the ones I bought. http://www.altberg.co.uk/product/gamekeeper-boot/

I cannot stress how comfortable or how waterproof they are; I use mine for shooting, walking, any reason to wear them! They also do fitting service (factory based and around the country on a roadshow) if you wanted ultimate fit. If I remember correctly, they say to buy one half size up from your normal size but I would speak to them. I bought mine from a local supplier so I could try them on; Altberg have a re-sole service.
