Just my pennies worth. I decided on FFRR found a mint 2006 3.0 diesel in black. I had a cls 320 for 5 years before and I got about 100 yards I the RR when I pulled over because I thought it was running in 2 cylinders. I test drove a V8 and there is a world of difference

I'm just stating my opinion but they are chalk and cheese to me. I would love a 4.4 but could only afford the 3.6 for now. ( master plan is I effect )

Which ever you decide , good luck and enjoy 2015 4.4 AB

Now that I can equate to. I had a cls 320 which although rather impractical due to only 4 seats flew along nicely. Nice one 👍

I had a TD6 for a couple of years and my only real complaint was the refinement. Performance was OK, but overtaking not an option. The noise in the cabin really got to me in the end. I've since traded it for a 405 TDV6 and what a difference, one of the most quiet refined cars I've ever owned and plenty of power. My mate has a 3.6V8 and it's a lot more refined. I'd go for that if you can afford it.

On a side note, the 405 is poorly packaged internally compared to the 322. I had 2 teenagers in the boot of mine for a short trip, couldn't do that in a 405!

Don't get me wrong mike, if the opportunity comes up, I'd go for a tdv8.
A nice one was out of my price range when I was looking.
you pay your money and make your choice.
As you have said, you have a sports car for what it's intended to do.
the ffrr ain't no sports car, and I don't drive mine as such, not to say I drive it slow.
Greg Thumbs Up

When I was looking a few months back, I only wanted a petrol one. Mainly due to the fact my brother in law has a TD6 and I really didn't like it Embarassed

Just didn't seem "refined" for want of a word. I'd had a few P38's petrol, and perhaps I was comparing his car to those, but his car seemed almost agricultural.

Then I drove a TDV8. massively different animal (to me at least). I asked the same question on here and someone replied they were like chalk and cheese. I thought this was being kind to the TD6 Big Cry

Get a 3.6 V8, I'm so glad I did (but this doesn't stop me looking at prices of the 4.4V8) Thumbs Up
