3.6TdV8 stuttering

Hi my 2007 L322 vogue 3.6 td8 is stuttering when pulling away occasionally and I believe it to be water in the fuel.
I would like to know where the fuel filter is located and does it have a water drain valve ?
Any help grately appreciated.
This is my first post and find fullfatrr a great resource thanks to the posts on here.

Welcome to the FFRR forum....truly a great resource with more than it's fair share of characters Laughing

The fuel filter on the TDV8 is on the right side (offside) as you look at the engine. It's normally a black cylinder hanging vertically down and has a water trap/valve at the bottom.

Have a search on the Wiki if you need a picture to refer to.

Many thanks Mike, I think it must be under a cover as it is not obvious when laying under the car I tried looking on the Wiki page for a photo but couldn't find one.

Thanks Alistair I'm still having trouble finding it and not sure why as thought it would be a bit more obvious unless I'm just using my wrong glasses Very Happy

Are you maybe getting confused as the right side as you look at the engine is the nearside (in UK) not the offside? Whistle John

Ok did a YouTube search and found out it's under a cover on the near side just In front of the rear wheel, just had a look and sure enough there is a cover held on with two ten mill bolts. As daylight is fading fast I sprayed them with WD40 and will look at removing them in the morning to see f the filter is hiding underneath as I strong suspect. On the YouTube video the filter didn't appear to have a bleed valve but I will have a look tomorrow in the daylight.

There is a bleed valve for the fuel system but it's hidden under the black plastic engine cover, about half way along the fuel pipe.
I only found it after I replaced my diesel filter (not an easy job) and let air into the system and it wouldn't start, so the same process might help you too.
It looks like the cap off a tyre valve. Just unscrew it and push down the valve as you get a willing assistant to turn the car over and Bobs your aunties brother Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I have never seen any water in a TDV8 fuel filter

Generally, it's down to a worn/faulty injector. By all means, drain and bleed the fuel system, but I think it will be a waste of time

Sounds like it needs plugged in, and injector values checked Thumbs Up

I'm pretty sure it's just under the bonnet Thumbs Up not under the car!

Look at the car from the front, it should be on the right about half way back between the engine and the inner wing. No need to crawl under.

It's a black cylinder about 7-8" long and 4" in Dia with land rover written on it see the pic below its the thing next to the oil filler with the white writing on
