Did you by any chance pack a IID Tool when you shipped it all over there?

As above, turn the sensor on by pressing the button then go round and stick your ear against each sensor in turn. If you can hear it clicking it's working. The one that isn't clicking is the problem and it will either be a duff sensor or a broken wire. |

I think I know which one is not working. The other day I parked near the bank and as there are no car parks in Yaoundé, I had to park on an elevated paving section and as I approached the wall, I pressed the button for the front sensor to beep but was too late as I bumped the wall. The front right hand side of the bumper, right where a sensor is located had been slightly scuffed but I thought no more of it.

I took the car to a garage in Yaounde that has a Paris Land Rover trained mechanic. He managed to push the sensor out of the bumper from the rear and we found two wires had snapped. Not having a soldering iron another garage mechanic simply twisted both of the wires together and then wrapped them in insulation tape. The sensors are now working again.

that's good news buddy, but I think I'd personally take a soldering iron to the repair before the moisture gets a hold or the wires and corrodes it again, as I believe that you are in a rather humid climate over there. I know that when my Uncle was living in Nairobi, every thing electrical had to be 'Tropical' spec to stop the gremlins, and I believe that it's a lot wetter your side of Africa Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
