MOT renewal date

Had my FFRR serviced and MOT'd today. Passed with only a couple of advisories. But renewal date on cert is 10th Decemebr2016 even though previous test was valid until 5th Jan 2016. I thought if you got it done within a month you get to keep the renewal date.

MOT place says all computerised and centralised so nothing that can do. Big Cry

Is this just VoSA/DVLA computer fault? Anyone else had this or suggestions on how to remedy it!

Cheers.

I seem to remember this issue coming up on PistonHeads recently. Something to do with a VOSA computer glitch.

Might be worth checking the MOT history site to see if the dates are correct. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Private reg on it too? That's what my mot tester blamed it on, as mines done the same. I noticed when I got home.

Couple of days later the bloke from the garage rang me to ask me to drop my current and previous mots off and he'll sort it. Although it might take a month or two to come through he reckons

The MOT tester is washing his hands of it saying it's all computerised. Private reg but same as last years MOT. This cert didn't have the previous tests and mileages on it either but the VIN is correct. Will check the website and hope it gets sorted.

I've just had an MOT and it automatically set the date to the anniversary of the previous MOT - as it should. I would write a (pleasant) letter to VOSA asking them to reissue with the correct date. I'd report the MOT tester at the same time. You're his customer - he should sort it out for you.

Emailed VOSA thru their website. Will see if I get a reply. They say 10 working days but also state they have high demand at the moment. It's only 26 days out but it did give me some movement over doing before or after Christmas.

Highways agency (now highways England) do that, VOSA (Now the DVSA), just deal with vehicle roadworthyness, MOT's, Driving tests and drivers hours.

what annoys me is the way they keep rebranding them every time the re-organise. (they do the same with schools), we have to pay every time they do. New stationary, new uniforms, new vehicle livery and signage... Evil or Very Mad

Common problem at the moment.. Vosa know about it and will automatically update their online MOT records.

Don't blame the MOT tester as it's not his fault, he has no input on the dates it's done automatically by the vosa computer.
