The original classic Range Rover had a metallic green called Cyprus Green which was very popular at a time when green as a colour was also very commen. It was replaced by Ardennes green which was darker and in my view was even nicer.

Green is my favourite colour for all types of car and my own FF is Tonga which I like a lot. Having said that, Aintree is not my favourite green, it seems a bit dull but if I had the chance it would still be the colour I would choose for a new RR. Green just suits a RR more than any other colour. Just as a green Land Rover looks so right.

My ideal spec would be Green with the burgundy interior - but Land rover doesn't allow it.

Aintree green rocks, especially when covered in mud! With the black leather and the macassar wood, hugely practical and looks great but I'm biased.

My first 405 - which was specced at launch, was Epsom Green with dark Tan hide - looked awesome - unfortunately Stratstone screwed up virtually ALL of the options on the order form - meaning it came with the wrong roof, with the roof the wrong colour, and three other options absent. Told them to poke it - but it did look good.

I agree with mogman50,and would add that I think early 2 doors started with Lincoln green,then went to Balmoral green(which I had), then Cypress green, which I still have, followed by, I think, Ardennes,Epsom, Tonga,Galway? Gunmetal Grey would be a close second for me.

We've had two L405s in green with espresso seats (and no drug-dealer glasshouse).

All the dealers who've seen them (another story...) seem to love it; I'm always stopped by customers who express their admiration after they're seemingly drawn from the black or white showroom display model to ours outside.

Oh, and, yes, it is a proper green, no blue about it at all. Makes me hope that Porsche might reintroduce Forest Green as a core colour again...
