Questions

Folks,

Advice sought please. I'm looking at buying something capable of editing the CCF and reading fault codes etc. What and why should I buy? My preference is for a PC based solution, but thats only based on previous experience with my X5. This IIDTool (BT) gadget seems to be the weapon of choice, your thoughts and comments please.

Secondly, CTEK conditioner/chargers. Which model is recommended for a FFRR? --RiDDO

Powerful is a bit of a subjective term, but it can do things that SDD can't. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

i had SDD on a laptop for a bit, and IID is definitely better, as well as a third of the price (based on a years sub to SDD and buying the mongoose cable)

I think your getting a tad carried away there Mickey... IID tool is a fab bit of kit agreed but to claim "More powerful than the system the dealers use” is ambitious! Rolling Eyes

Can the dealers tool enables features on early cars, that were only supposed to be for the later models?

Sat Nav on the move?

FULL CCF editing?

Raising and lowering suspension heights?

I didn't think so. Back in your box Rolling Eyes

No, the dealers tool can't

It is very, very limited in CCF editing ability, only the very basics are allowed

SNOTM has been removed from SDD

SDD will only let you calibrate the suspension heights, not raise/lower by a determined height (unless this has been recently added, but I see no reason why JLR would let the dealer do this)

SDD will also only let you put the correct firmware for that year onto the car, not the later firmware needed for the additional features

Next Thumbs Up

In essence Mikey loves IIDTool, and will defend its functionality/usefulness vigorously.

Zirconblue had SDD on a lappy for a while, but prefers IIDTool to SDD.

I've read the User Manual for IID.....looks like the only solution is IIDTool. Hmm. --RiDDO
