I've been having problems with my power steering since i go the car 15 months ago, changed the valve which did nothing, my next step was going to be changing the pump, anyway, yesterday, i had 4 new tyres fitted, the lad fitting them opened the boot and put the hazards on, unfortunately, I didn't notice he'd left the ignition on too, this just killed the battery as I haven't used the car for a week or so, anyway, we had to jump start the car off one of their vans, now i dont know whats happened but i have full and working power steering back, i can only think it's re-set the BCU or something...........any ideas ?? Semper in merda sumus, solum altum variat !!

yeah you've effectively done a battery reset, basically you've just rebooted every computer on the vehicle.
