RSE Remote control 2010 in 2008

So Ive seen that you can use a 2006 remote control for the RSE in models up to 2012 , so the question is, does a 2010 touch screen fancy remote work in a 2007/2008 model with RSE ?

If so is it just a case of buying the remote and the dock and wiring it in to charge and away I go ?

If the early remote works in later cars it seems the IR codes used are the same so theoretically the reverse should be true. If anyone close to me has a pre 2010 car with RSE I would be happy to try my 2011 remote to prove or disprove the theory.

cheers. Id like to know as Id say it would be a brilliant retrofit for those with 07-09 cars with RSE.
