New content stars

The little stars that highlight new postings are really helpful. I also like the way they take you right to the new part of the discussion.

The stars never seem to show up on the computer, so I make sure to access the forum on my iPad using Chrome. It seems to be the only way the stars appear. (No show on iPad/safari or Win10/any browser.)

Well, I've a new iPad, and even with Chrome, the stars are conspicuous by their absence.

What gives?

Any way of getting those stars to show up with a bit more regularity? They seem more delicate than the GM 5-speed!

I know. First world problems. However, a solution would be much appreciated.

Only new topic here (for me) gets a star. Click the star and you immediately go to the first unread post in the thread, not the start if the tread that you get when you just click on the title. It's a great feature, when it's there.

Just to follow this up, the stars are the iPad version of the little grey page + arrow which appears to the left of the thread title on a computer browser

I made them stars on tablets to make them easier to tap

They still only seem to work on some iPads. It's a shame as they're really handy.
