Smell of gasoline coming out off the dashboard...

inside the car.... is that because of the FBH - or does car burn additional gas to get the car heated ? Confused All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

I got that thought it was an oil leak as smelt more like gearbox oil - checked no leaks any where - than diesel being burnt, had a number of RR products with FBH before & they never smelt like this, plus the FBH must have moved as smell inside the car rather than outside it Question Paul

Laughing Laughing Laughing NO - i do not use it my remote control is with the spare key in the safe Razz - FBH is the work of satan ! Twisted Evil

Gaz - it smells like if you fill up the car at a gas station - the smell is coming out of the 2 vents in the middle of the dashboard Sad All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

I think it operates at temperatures below circa 15 c automatically not user dependant Paul

We had a gasoline smell in our MY15 5.0S. The very helpful dealer tried everything including eventually disconnecting the FBH, renewing pretty much the whole fuel line system...and still it remained, usually (but not exclusively) once the car was fully warmed-through and left at idle or stuck in heavy traffic.

Eventually, they conceded defeat and accepted the car back and returned the purchase price (there'd been other probs as well, granted).

We now have a MY15.5 SDV8. In the round, much better but, oh, what we'd give for BMW/Mercedes-equivalent iDrive-like interface/seat heater controls (how bloody long does it take for the console to come to life on start-up?)/headlights/engine refinement blah, blah Very Happy
