Got A RR Sport for the weekend.... I like it

Got a shot of a Range Rover sport for the weekend. Its a 2011 3.0 diesel model, seems a nice engine and haven not driven a diesel in a few years I'm enjoying the low down torque. Im struggling trying to compare it to my l322 as that was sold back in may but to be honest its a nice car to drive and i would consider one. MPG is pretty good as well 28-30 around town and high 30s on the motor way.

Having a look around just over 20k can get a nice one but i know the sports sometimes are thought to be more unreliable than the l322 is this the case and would i be as well putting 20k into a l322, saying that i still wouldn't be considering one just yet but maybe sometime soon. I do love Range Rovers but i think i prefer just getting a shot in one rather than owning and having two worry about all the bills and potential issues Thumbs Up

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

A friend has a very similar one. 8spd box is a dream and the 3.0 SDV6 seems to have plenty of grunt.

Like you, I like these and I'd have one Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I'm a big fan of the RRS. I have had two and the 2012 one was the best. The SDV6 & 8 speed gearbox is a great combination, very smooth with plenty of power. I still miss it Sad 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool

I had a few as loan cars whilst my SC had some warranty work a few years ago.

I found the SDV6 underpowered, though torquey, with very little in reserve.

The 8-speed 'box was smooth but always seemed to be changing gear.

The handling was very good and so was the ride. And the quality and fit and finish excellent.

Not my thing at all.

It was probably a trifle harsh comparing it to my SC, but I'd rather drive a 10 year-old SC than a then-new Sport. Si. <This is my name.

I has a 2010 for a few months before my current and apart from the engine, I hated it.

Mine didn't have the 8 speed box but the engine and box combination was fantastic.

I put up with it because I couldn't afford the big hit in what it was going to cost to change and then one day I rang a dealer to ask what he would give me against my sport and he offered me MORE than I paid for it so it was a no brained!!

They do seem to hold their money better than the 322 and they are probably more of a wife's car etc.

My mate has the new one and o have to say that is a really nice car,,,,,,,,,

Off to wash my mouth out now

I had two RRSs before the FFRR and I loved both of them. A really good driving position and both cars, each of which I had from new, were problem free. Both also held their value. Truth to tell , the day I bought the FF I had actually gone to view a fully loaded RRS TDV8 AB, but Mrs S who was with me saw the FF whilst I was looking at the RRS and said "this one is much nicer", which is wife code for we're buying this car. Loved the FFRR too, but I do miss the RRS at times. I've driven all the versions of the L494 and I've got to be honest, the next car will more than likely be a 5.0 SC L494, but they need to drop below £50k before I play, so the FF is with me a while yet!

IMHO the old shape Sport has aged much more quickly than the L322 - but maybe I'm biassed Very Happy

I drove the new L494 and was very impressed - but then again, it's a RR not a Disco.... Whistle

If I didn't need the space - then I'd probably have bought a new Sport - in fact, I expect that is what I will buy next - I'll go & rinse my mouth Thumbs Up

I had 2 of the old shape Sports and agree, I think it has aged much more quickly than the L322, and is no where near as classy Thumbs Up

Whilst I hear everything everyone says about the 494, I'm still not a fan of the back end of it, and again, it just doesn't have the presence or class of the Vogue Whistle

You certainly get plenty looks driving around in a white Range Rover sport its in no way inconspicuous ! But there is no question the interior of the l322 is much more luxurious Thumbs Up Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )

Trust me, you won't get that, even on a facelift. Laughing

The RRS is a great vehicle. Reliability is fine if you're prepared to spent the money on preventitive maintainence. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

I always found the interior a bit "cramped" for my liking. I really like spacious cars (driving an old S-class here, had a GMC Van for years). Must be that I have lived in one of the most cramped countries in the world for too long. Can't stand anything small anymore: small house, small car, small mindend people, economy class seats Smile Smile Smile

Also I find the RRS design has dated a lot more than the L322 design. Even the Discos look more modern than the RRS.

Anyway, each to their own, I just plan to stick to the FullFats Smile. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
