Good morning all has any body been here I have just noticed they have a pay and play day in November and if it is suitable for a standard full fat on road tyres

I have, its a great day out and I did it in a D3 which was perfect.

Some of the tracks through the woods are Defender width but if the D3 got through unscathed then i guess a RR would too.

Great Hills/Descents and a big lake/pond to drive through.

Im sure me and Haylands have been there...

I was in a totally standard Grand Cherokee that had no TCS or locking or limited slip diffs and managed a good amount although scrappage on the underside was regular as the tracks in some sections are quite rutted.

The lake can be quite deep so watch others go through it first but there are shallower sections and some ramp overs that you need to be careful of even in extended mode

Have a recovery strap on front and rear and that will save some messing about should you need it and above all take your time. Watch others doing tracks in front of you to help judge how bad/boggy/slippy they are.

As long as you have decent tread left on your tyres most stuff should be ok but under 5mm of tread the tyres will just clog with mud very quickly. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

We did it about a year ago... a lot of the tracks are definitely NOT FF size, ask Paul!!!!

You have to be very careful at P+P sites, I have seen it happen a lot, you end up getting carried away and damage can and does happen, as long as you are prepared to take a hit sooner or later then have fun....

I took mine round soon after I got it. To be honest it was a waste of money. The routes are colour coded Blue, Red and Black. For a non modified vehicle with road tyres you will be limited to Blue and Red. The Blue routes are really like un paved roads that most cars will be able to cope with. The Red routes are more challenging and you will be able to cope with about 90% of them. Some are just too narrow, too tight or with too deep water unless you don't mind kissing a tree or two. Black routes are for modified vehicles with off road tyres, winches etc.
If you have not yet experienced the off road ability of a ff then it may be worth it. They are truly awesome in standard trim and you may well be surprised how well they climb and descend ridiculous gradients even with road tyres. I was not willing to swap paint for tree bark so I didn't go too mad but still I did enjoy it.
