This tints on my rear window look terrible, the heating elements are VERY visable, it also effects how the dimming mirror works. It obviously doesnt need to dim the interior one so much, but it also asumes it doesnt need to dim the side mirrors.

If I could get factory glass I would go for that, if not, I'm not sure I would bother now. Although I always wanted tints on my last RR.

I have Supaglass (clear) and then tints on top, which is why I think it tailgate glass looks so bad. You could go for this on the grounds of "security" rather than aesthetics: http://www.pentagonglass.com/tint-shades/d...cle=saloon 

As a yoof I had a Custom VW beetle, slammed to the floor and with mirror tints. It was great.. a right good chuckle. One day I was waiting to pick up a family member when a child stopped along side and promptly began to pull faces at himself in the mirror effect. I wound the window down an inch and peeped over the top of the glass...child didn't notice the window going down but then noticed starttled bunny style ran screaming in a propper hysterical fit.... I really felt quite bad about that

The pleasure pain theory did however pay me back, when I came to my senses and removed the film.. for the next couple of months my brain considered the absence of tint = window is open, despite the lack of breeze etc.. So each time I came to reverse or speak to someone I smacked my head up against the closed window.

Funny looking back.

I now only have factory tints in the back... I chose between 2 vehicles the same but for the tints. The other had rear DVD screens and no tints which I thought was frigging stoopid as its only a matter of time before someone tries to screw the motor for the head rests by smash and grab. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

CSK I am not too keen on them either, each to their own though...

Its quite refreshing to see a Range Rover without them now, but I must be honest I would find them useful to keep guns out of view! Its a damn pain having to put everything under a parcel shelf.

Oh and if you happen to have a girly friend I suppose they can be very useful

I agree, I often sit in the back on the drive eating pies, hiding my shame behind the tints. 

All very good arguments especially about the girls, this could be useful in Saint-Tropez!
We could fit some curtains like in a VW campervan in case someone tries to see through the dark tints.

Great for having a dog in the back too - the dog sees out but nosey doesn't see in.

As he/she peers in they get a full dog "warning" onslaught!!

My labrador is only 10 weeks old though so we've got a while before he's read to take on that duty..

My mind has changed, I now hate tints. I went to see another rangie today without tints, then another with tints. The one I saw without tints I have fallen in love with, even though I bought a brand new one 18 months ago

moral of the story is if you want tints, never go for factory, always go for aftermarket. At least if you get bored, or change your mind you can remove them
