While having to obtain a new insurer yesterday as modified my rangey I was asked if I were a member of any forums!

Has anyone else encountered this and do underwriters think that by customers communicating with members whom are au fait with all aspects in relation to a vehicle they drive is somewhat going to benefit them on the open road?!

Sometimes they give discounts to forum members so I suspect it's nothing more sinister than that. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

I was with Aviva but they had to cancel my policy as cannot insure my mods and it was Adrian Flux that asked!

It worked out about £7! So I can celebrate with a bottle of Asti now!! Just wonder how they attempt to monitor such declarations as users could be banned / unidentifiable usernames etc etc!

That being said - the insurers I am with now are actually cheaper than the ones I were with prior to the mods being done!! £80 difference!

I can't believe they have time to check through forums. Probably feel that if you frequent forums you'll be a an enthusiast and a lower risk. So they'll reduce your premium.
