Retrofitting Park Assist

I am looking for a used 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. However, finding it difficult to find my perfect spec but have found one car but has the Park Assist (featuring Parallel Park, Parking Exit, Perpendicular Parking and 360° Park Distance Control) missing.

Can this £900 option be retrofitted?

Also how useful is this feature? My wife is adamant she wants this.

Thanks.

You will find 360 deg pdc already fitted as standard but as for the rest I would doubt that it would be realistically possible to do at anywhere near the £900 option price. Control units, wiring harness, switchgear and any mechanical components would have to be bought separately and if you could find anyone to fit the system the dealer labour costs would be horrendous. Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

Depending on the model year you are looking at it may not have 360 pdc. Pfazz is right, it will be much more expensive plus the installation of sensors will include drilling holes into the body panels too.

I suggest you probably need to keep looking for the 'perfect' car or get a replacement SWMBO!

Silly question but I'm sure the system uses the parking sensors anyway so it's a module somewhere that then does the rest and possibly a button on the dash too?

You'd need to look at both cars on a parts system so maybe ask Dan for help? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

It may help to give you an idea - I wanted an electric tow bar installed - that's a similar price for factory fit - and the dealer quotes were £3k Shocked

I continued searching until I found the right spec car Thumbs Up

Thank you for all the replies. Looks like will need to keep looking then.

BTW, has anyone got this option and can give their opinion on its usefulness ?

Park Assist "should be" standard while the Automatic Parking should not. The latter has some camera/sensors more on the bumpers, it's not simply a module. 2016 RR ATB (Kaikoura Stone w/Brogue/Ivory-Brogue)
