United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

That's a cracking looking car.

I'm looking to get a 4.7 Coupe in Spring/Summer next year.

Is yours a SportShift or a manual?

Sports shift. I went for a long test drive to see what it was like. Its very easy to use and you soon get used to it. I've just done a 500 mile round trip to Somerset and back (mainly motorways) and averaged 27 mpg so fuel economy not scary

Very nice combination. I had a look a few years ago at a 4.3 V8V. Not particularly quick and the 4.7 is a big step up.

There's a company called Bamford Rose Engineering who specialise in Aston Martins. The guy who owns the place Mike did a lot of work for Aston Martin in the engine design team.

If you take them a 4.3 and give them £5k they will put a high performance exhaust on it that doesn't make any extra noise unless you want it to, it includes 200 cell 4 - 1 manifolds. This gives the 4.3 the same performance as a 4.7. If you give them a 4.7 it makes a big difference to that too.

You can also take them a 4.3 and give them circa £15k and they will strip your engine, have the block machined out and then rebuild it with all new internals with a new displacement of 4.7 litres.

There's a massive thread on Pistonheads where Mike posts exactly what he does, how he does it and answers loads of questions. He also tells you what his experience is in the thread as well:
