Check for wet carpets, mine does that when it gets wet inside, especially the BCM which is in a hollow under the passenger seat, but check all over for wet... Pete

done a search and it appears it could be the brake switch or a faulty lcm.. ... - .- -.

yep, as Stan says, lots of things that can cause it just listing the free ones first, if carpets are damp on top they could be saturated underneath, they have a thick foam backing, do they just feel damp or can you get water out if you press hard??

Had the same problem years ago, it was at my 2002 the handy-telefon free-speech from Nokia, look behind the fuse box, if there is a cable not from factory installed, at mine it always come, when the (german: RUHESTROM), after take away this cable, the problem was solved.
