CD's only play through left hand speakers.

Hi - I am hoping that someone has had this before and resolved it, I have used the search function but didn't see any posts that had this issue.

I have the early set-up in my 2004 Vogue, non touch-screen version. My problem is that when I play CD's the sound only comes through the left hand/passenger side speakers. The radio is fine and plays through both sides of the car as normal. I have gone into the settings and made sure the fader and balance are all ok, I have switched the settings to play only on the right hand side and no sound at all.

I have looked at the amp in the boot and unplugged the connectors and re-seated them (just in case there is any bad connections) and it's all bone dry in there.

Any ideas what to look at next? It hasn't got the HK set up and appears to be all original.

Darren

If it's just the CD player I'd hazard a guess it's the plug in the back of it not making full contact, it's a pain to get out, you have to remove the glove box... Pete

Hi Pete, thanks for the reply - yes sounds like I should have a crack at getting the cd changer out and have a look.

Darren.

Hi Darren, if your a lucky Censored it will be a wire, here's a link to an earlier thread that lists all the 10 pin plug wires and their functions, ( it's a way down but I got there in the end Thumbs Up )

Are you near to MK? Cos I've got a fully working CD changer, that's gathering dust if you'd like something to test the car with Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Hi Paul,

I won't be so lucky - I was convinced it was the amp and have been looking for one on ebay, but niggling doubt has crept in as all the other modes play through all the speakers. So I am thinking CD changer is duff or the connector is furred up.

If I need to borrow your known good unit I will give you a shout, thank you very much for the offer - I am just down the A5 in Edlesborough Smile

Regards

Darren

If you have to buy something new for it, think about the Android unit, replaces all the old antiquated stuff in there and is far easier to use....

Plus if most of the original bits work it won't cost anything to change... Thumbs Up Pete
