France 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
Vauxhall Insignia

I've just returned from a 12 day trip to Bergerac, France in the above car only because I wanted to keep the miles off the RR.
You will all hate me but... It was a pleasure to drive, I never worried about it starting first time, it was smooth, comfortable and very fuel efficient. I liked it, liked it a lot.
BUT it ain't no Range Rover. I would have it as a second car though. just my personal obs.

I'm still keeping the RR but it was roomy. One for the missus I think.

2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I think that a lot of the medium sized cars like the Insignia are good. In recent months through work I have driven hire cars to and from sites and they include an Insignia, a Volvo v40, a Mondeo, Infinity Q20 and last week a ford focus. All 1.6/2.2 diesels (I think) and all a great little drive ! Not sure how I'd live with them in fairness for grinding out Mway miles in comfort with good economy, I'd 100% agree with you the Insignia is a nice car. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I had one as a courtesy car for a week... I thought it was the nastiest car I had driven in years.
From memory it handled like a pig. I have had 6 astras and a zafira as company cars for over 20 years, so I know my vauxhalls... Last month I even bought myself a brand spanking new Vauxhall Vivaro doublecab van for my own personal use, so I am not anti-Vauxhall at all...
Anyway, I still remember to this day that the insignia is a stinker of a motor vehicle. Previously..

I've just had a week in Italy in a Fiat Panda. Great for the twisty, narrow roads there but not sure if I will p/ex the FF for a 4x4 version.

Hateful things! the one and only one id driven was donny to heywood and back and it no matter how i adjusted the seat i couldnt get it right. Left my back and thighs aching for a day or two after.

I've had a couple of 1.8 petrols as hire cars to drive from Aberdeen to home and TBH they couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. They do a 1.6 as well! I found the view through the rear window to be restrictive. The last of the Cavaliers were great with the 1.8 petrol, 5 up, motoring along no bother at all! Vectras were awful. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

I hire cars regularly for business trips and was unlucky enough to be given an Insignia once. It was utterly Censored! Uncomfortable, woeful handling and complete lack of power. Must be a contender for the worst car I've ever driven.

The next time the hire company arrived with an Insignia I told them to take it back and swap it for something else.
