@alistair, that webbing stuff is pretty good, i think thats what the proper breakdown services use , [and the rigid bar of course] ... - .- -.

No problems chap, but it's a bit like Saying to a potential RR buyer, well why not buy one of those Defenders there. Ok it's not got the luxury but it can go off road and tow and it'll save you thousands £s These ropes are the same as LRE use, the safety hook fit the towing eyes front and back of the Discovery and many other non-LR vehicles without the need for shackles. Oh as as for the 12T weight rating - a full laden Disco is close to 3-T possibly just, that's over without a trailer - the suction power of mud will take that well over the 3.5 rating of normal tow ropes. And I've seen them snap ![]() But as I said in the main OP on the Disco forum, I expect peeps to have made their minds up and done their research before so don't expect the main GB thread to become a discussion thread. These ropes sell like hotcakes on their own, seeming this is the 3rd Rope GB for these and I'm at near 20 ropes in 2 two days and the previous GB were in the 70s & 90s I think that speaks for it's self. I'm not forcing anyone to buy these, I'm just giving you guys the option to buy what I and many others deem as a very good product. Probably a bit like why you guys drive a RR instead of a Defender ![]() |

I've already got one from the 2009 group buy. It's done load of work including dragging out tree stumps (a bit of Landy-scaping) and it's still fine so I can definitely vouch for the quality. |
