I really like Edd and have learned a number of things over the years from his billion "top tips"

Mike "old art yer and" is fine as long as the Jamie Oliver cheeky chappie doesn't get up your nose. He really Censored me off though when he uses the word Mitsubooshi. It's Mitsubishi you tart. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

England 2005 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Tonga Green

I was watching an old 'Wheeler Dealers' and it was the Ford Capri Laser episode. They paid £400.00 for the car, bought various parts and provided a total spend of £945.00 (they must have forgotten to add in the cost of the new tyres or got them free!!) and sold it for................ £700.00. Shocked

However, the bit that made me laugh was the paint job of which the virtues were initially extolled by Ed and then, when it clear that it was crap paint job, brushed under the carpet and the "eff it - it'll do" approach was adopted (when it clearly wasn't!). The car was then sold, not as a two tone Capri but a three tone. Rolling with laughter

That front end just didn't match from the 'A' posts back! Not sure how the low resolution You Tube video appears on a PC but it did make me laugh!

The paint job is from 13.40.

Enjoy Laughing

regards

John

PS having said the above, the Capri would possibly be worth more now so there's something to say about keeping old cars on the road eh?

I love watching the old episodes and cringing at the complete lack of ANY H&S where Edd is concerned... Grinding with NO PPE or spray painting in an enclosed environment again with absolutely ZERO PPE... Does make you wonder how much pressure was applied & by whom to present the show in a better light Whistle

And lets be honest... Anything to show the industry improving has to be a good thing... Bow down

Whistle Something fishy there.... isn't that the wheeler dealers van pictured next to the Honda? And I could have sworn that the owner lived in a house........ that looks like an industrial unit, you know just like the one on the telly, I'll remember the program in a minute............

So what sort of numpty bids £7.5K on a car that the whole world knows cost £3K and a couple to fix? I watched the Corvette C2 the other day, and was left thinking how amazing it was that some random chap just happened to turn up in Coventry with £45K in his pocket to buy a C2 that hadn't even been advertised for sale! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... I did read somewhere on the net that all the cars are bought by the production company prior to the series being filmed, they are all there together.

Was there a member on here that bought the Mustang they did ? (Probably on a different thread.....) 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

... It should have been Francis Ford Cuppa-ala! To keep it related.

To be honest, it's an entertainment programme, in the interesting section. There has to be a story to make it have a start and finish.
Yes we laugh at them, but it's not even half as bad as some of these regular programmes like storage wars, and lizard lick towing, that are just- really bad. But they have the similar same old story, each episode. It's the so called, 'experts' that say, 'well, that's 800 bucks you got there', and the total chings up on the screen -without any evidence of anything actually sold!
It's just baloney. The towing show, should be for disturbed people only. Never a quiet day there!

I saw Mike Brewer at a car show, and he was on the mic' chatting about classic cars, as they paraded, and he interviewed the owners. -and he does know his stuff. And sounds approachable. I wouldn't shake his hand mind you, as I might lose my car for a tenner!
